SomaliLessons is a labour of love from two Somali mums and a Somali poet and educator with a consortium of Somali language heavyweights.

The idea was born out of frustration with language resources available to Somali kids in the diaspora. While other ethinic communities have language classes, established curriculum, lots of teachers, and plethora of books and resources, these were almost non-existent in the Somali communities in the diaspora, except for Sweden which teaches Somali as a second language as part of school curriculum.

At SomaliLessons, we have worked hard to produce a curriculum, plenty of resources (worksheets, stories, audiobooks) and a methodology of teaching which covers lots of speaking practice, reading and writing in almost every lesson and listening.
